Posted over 13 years ago by Carrie McLaughlin

Dear Members and Colleagues-

It is with tremendous sadness and disbelief that our member, Treasurer Judi Hall, was killed in a motor vehicle accident outside Burns, Or. on Tuesday, September 28th, 2010.  Her Husband, David Burns, remains at a Harney Hospital recently downgraded from ICU care.

I just spoke with Mr. Hall's daughter, Sarah, regarding his condition, the accident and services for Judi.  Judi's sons and mother are currently in the Bay Area and are planning services early this week though specifics are not known at this time.  The Hall family will additionally have services  in Redding once David is stable and emotionally ready.  Judi will be cremeated and her remains will be distributed between her sons and her husband.

The Hall family is seeking medical transfer to SRMC for David possibly in the next several days.  His injuries include 12 broken ribs, a fractured clavicle and a punctured lung.  It is estimated he will need 7-10 days further hospitalization.  According to Sarah, he is overwhelmed emotionally and grief stricken and that will be the hardest recovery to make.

I am serving as a direct contact between the Hall family and our group.  I have made them aware that we love Judi and will come together to assist them with anything they need right now.  I am working with our Board looking for specific ways to honor Judi.  If anyone has any suggestions please feel free to contact me on my cell phone at (530) 646-9414.

No announcement has been made in the Record Searchlight as of yet.  I did offer our services in recognizing her professional accomplishments and the integral role she played in our organization.

I loved Judi as I know most of you did.  It's hard for me to imagine how we can continue without her.
