Redding Area PA & NP Alliance

Membership Announcement Regarding Dues for NP and PA

Posted over 10 years ago by Carrie McLaughlin

Nurse Practitioner members.

Per the August membership report that I received from CANP this month, there are only 31 paid members of CANP in our area. We have an extensive e-mail list that has many many more NPs.

I believe that it is vital to our profession to support our state organization. CANP represents us in Sacramento. This representation not only works to increase our scope of practice but to monitor and intervene when there is legislation that can impede our practice. This is extremely important. There are continuing threats to NP practice not only in California but in many states.

Our membership dues help protect out right to practice our profession. Remember that $50.00 of each membership returns to the local chapter.

Many employers allow NPs to use CME dollars to pay for professional dues. Check and see if you are eligible. Even if not, $20.83 a month is not a lot to pay to protect your practice.

If you still do not have your Schedule II - CANP is offering a special when you sign up for the class. The class cost $250.00 but the money is credited toward a membership and the CSII class is included. The class is on line. It's a win win situation.

Renewal and new membership information is available at the CANP web site:
